Greetings
one and all. If you have come here seeking the best of home-made, hand-crafted kiwiana (and other) cotton products for the home, then seek no further. If you were searching for something else, take a moment to see what we do. All products were made by me (Dawn) on an Elna, Brother, or Semco sewing machine, out of locally-sourced materials. Most of the cotton fabric is New Zealand-designed by local artists, and I have been collecting (hoarding) bright fabrics for many years. Once I had time to sew clothing, but now all my spare time, when not working my day job or sleeping, is spent creating the items that can be seen on these pages, or at craft markets, or both. For me, the enjoyment comes from creating something that people want, and meeting people, regulars and new customers, at the various local craft markets. I am helped (hindered) by my somewhat useful husband, and by a crowd of cats (currently 6), and my craft has completely taken over the house and the garage. The sewing machines (three of) are permanently set up on the dining-room table, the couch is buried in partially-finished items, rolls of fabric occupy cupboards and furniture, and one bedroom is full of bins and boxes of collected fabric. The sample items that are shown on the other pages here were chosen at random from the items I have made for markets or customers. I can make any item from any fabric (with certain exclusions), so please do not feel limited if you want a certain look. Please feel free to contact me if you would like me to make something for you, have a market in mind that you think would suit my products, or if you have a product you think I should consider, or to give feedback on any of my products, or just to have a chat. |
